    Series 3 88"

Hi, it's not officially for sale but I may let it go. I was offered free garage storage by a neighbour so decided to keep it but I have done nothing with it since parking it up. Send me your email if your interested and il send some pics over.

    Series 3 88"

To answer a few questions looking for about £2100 mot'd with wheels, £1800 as is with wheels, or £1500 as is without wheels. Forgot to say it has a fairey overdrive that works perfectly, brand new uprated steering damper not yet fitted.

    Series 3 88"

Unfortunately need to sell my Series 3. Only reason is that we are venturing further on our green laning trips and it just isn't practical so a defender is required, if I had the room to store it I would. It's a 1983 88" in pastel green, 5mb 2.25 petrol. Excellent chassis, nice bodywork bar a...

pipe on top of carb keeps falling off

Mine did this. I got a new silicon hose/sleeve of eBay and 2 new jubilee clips and problem solved. The new silicon is a tighter fit anyway and stays on the carb even without the jubilee clip.

Sam's alternative Pig Lane weekend (or where I eventually went with the series 3)

Nice looking truck, probably too nice to risk bending it so think you made the right decision! There's loads of nice lanes in the area without the risk of damage that a std series will handle no problem will let you know next time we're going out again :)

    Chassis paint "what's best"

Another vote for POR-15. Expensive but worth every penny much more durable than Hammerite.

North wales pig lane revisited weekend 27th feb

Unfortunately not Sam had to head home today. Shame would have been nice to have seen another series out for a change! You will have fun I had to be pulled out a couple of times because it got beached but being smaller than the discos was definitely an advantage damage wise. Got away with a...

North wales pig lane revisited weekend 27th feb

Just got home I was only doing the sat. Interesting lane! 2 of the 3 discos have roof dents, 1 has lost the front bumper, not sure who's diff has gone and my series has a few new battle scars and a bit less paint. Enjoyable day though thanks for organising it and the pig was beautiful :)

    truck cab SWB filler plate

You don't really need it. Yes there is a small gap but it really doesn't cause a problem. I only bought one because it was local and cheap, and tbh with it on the rest of the cab doesn't fit as well. I may have bought a crap 1 though! The gap can be filled with pipe insulation but it's a series...

    Pattern Fuel Pumps and Dizzys

Thanks il go with the bearmach pump then. Dizzy is already running a Simon bbc kit and it's been great but don't think it's advancing properly anymore and for the price was tempted to get an electric Lucas copy and keep mine as a spare. Like the idea of having some spares on board for laning...

    Pattern Fuel Pumps and Dizzys

Any experiences of these? Paddocks do a genuine Land Rover refurb kit for £11 or a Bearmach full pump for £16. Some pattern ones appear to come with glass bowl etc some are a bare pump. Are the pattern ones ok or best to refurb the original? Tempted to order both so I have a spare but any...

1972 series 3 SWB new purchase

Wow that looks stunning I'd be scared to use it! Best colour too :D

    Steering damper for SWB?

Yeah you could be right! Coming home from last laning trip in Wales the steering went a bit stiff and it was wandering a bit and previously it had always been spot on since I've owned it. I topped up steering box and relay which seemed ok, where as the swivels took about 300ml of ep90 each side...

    Steering damper for SWB?

My 83 came with one fitted looks standard? Anyway it's recently failed and you can really notice the difference. Steering wheel gets pulled around in your hands much more when you hit a pothole etc. Maybe removing it would be better than a knackered one but got a new one to go on anyway.

    Raptor dash

Nice job Sam that looks well tidy. I did consider knocking something up myself but in the end I couldn't be arsed:D What you made that out of MDF?

    Raptor dash

It's close but you can still get the vent lever. Saying that my vent is fixed shut for top corner repair at the moment so not tried opening it. If it's too close it's nothing a smack with a hammer or a hacksaw wouldn't sort but I don't think it needs it.

    Raptor dash

Granted fags close to hand is important but I've quit so get away with that:D Yeah you lose a bit of storage but tunes are more important! Tools are all under the passenger seat and il probably bin the middle seat for a cubby box I reckon

    Raptor dash

Yeah it's tight but you can still get to it.
