Anyone replaced headgaskets on a TDV8?

I,ve looked at a 2006 V8td Vogue today.......looks immaculate, drives spot on and everything works BUT 160,000 miles with a full history and invoices .........am I crazy if I buy it ?

Wheres the best place to order rear suspension air bags from and whats the best brand to order ? I was going to order from Island 4x4 .....they have two different makes.....Conti or Dunlop.....which is better ? any idea?

2006 Freelander TD4 auto 5 door 122,000 miles VCu works as it should all propshafts/driveshafts present and correct, autobox changes up and down as it should , a few very small marks , tidy half leather/alcantara interior . Starts first time hot or cold , rear parking sensors...

@Hippo I have replaced the burnt wiring loom in my Freelander 1 TD4 ( just the main loom and the dash loom , not the engine loom as that wasn't damaged) , I suspect I have an immobiliser fault, the fuel pump runs and the engine cranks but doesn;t start . My question is..........would...

Bought a Freelander 1 2006 with a few issues .......scanning it comes up with fault codes P3515 and P1e00 and P0480......does anyone know what these codes mean ?

I've been offered a new 4.0 V8 thats suitable for a 2002 disco........would this be a gems engine and would it have a short or long nose crankshaft ?

Sold my 3.0 td6 L322 and now looking for a replacement...........I fancy a 3.6 V8 but have reservations about reliability.............anyone with experience of one ( good or bad) ........looking at 2008 ish model year thanks in advance
