P38 new problem with abs and traction fault

Heres abit of a dumb question: But did you actually clear the fault codes on the ABS controller? What are the current fault codes that the ABS controller gives? Did you insert the ABS sensors fully? If they not close enough to the toothed wheel they wont give reliable readings.

What did you do with your Range Rover today

You can not reuse stretch bolts. If its a normal bolt that has stretch but is still within its spec(goodluck finding what that spec is) then its reusable. But if its in any critical spot like headbolts reusing them is kinda like reusing headgaskets, im sure people have made it work but it still...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Had some new tyres fitted this morning. 235/85R16 so only abit larger than standard;)

What did you do with your Range Rover today

That was a super slippery hill. You can see in the terribly fimled decent video theres abit of a bump in the road and as my front wheels drop off they lose traction and from then on the ABS just decided no more brakes. I basically just plowed into a tree:rolleyes:

    For thick sand/dune driving.

What did you do with your Range Rover today

It catches you when you speeding. It basically intercepts the signals from the ABS ecu going to the valve body and then allows you to turn of ABS and traction control.

P38 new problem with abs and traction fault

The pump bleeding is part of the whole brake system bleeding procedure. There are two bleed nipples on the side of the valve body, the one does the pump and the other does the master cylinder if i remember correctly.

P38A Rust in the trunk - what is it?

Im assuming you mean the plugs. But no probably not, they are stamped sheet metal. Id just get a short stubby galvanised bolt and turn it in there from below just to plug the hole and the galvanising will help keep rust at bay. They just standard metric M10 threads if i remeber correctly. This...

Classic Has anyone ever replaced the fuel line connectors to the fuel pump for a 1994 RR 3.9 V8 with AN connectors? If so, does anyone have the specs of them?

I recently replaced my fuel line with AN6 line on my P38 but that uses the bosch style quick connect fittings. So was reasonably easy to do. https://www.landyzone.co.uk/land-rover/an-lines-on-a-p38.397607/ If your pump uses the normal push on type with hose clamps you will have to do adaptors...

P38A Rust in the trunk - what is it?

Those in red are threaded holes for cargo tie down points. They are surposed to have metal plugs insterted from below and then rubber coated over that but i assume yours have rusted away.

P38A Oil loss at the engine

If the new oil you added has cleaning agents in it, it will probably loosen up a decent amount of gunk. So i would do another oil change reasonably soon. The how soon would be based on how dirty i think the engine is and how expensive the new oil is.

P38A Oil loss at the engine

Are you standing on an almost perfectly level surface, ive noticed my oil level change quite drastically based on the levelness of the surface. I check my level about 5min after engine turnoff thats plenty time for all the oil to drain back down into the sump. But i feel like the amount its...

P38A What are the tallest tires you can put on a standard P38 16 inch rims ?

Yeah we did it on my brothers p38. As far as i remember they not very sensitive. But we dont use that anymore more because in the meantime he's developed a ABS/TC interceptor. Its main purpose is to allow the ABS and TC to be turned on and off independently of each other. As a side bonus though...

P38A What are the tallest tires you can put on a standard P38 16 inch rims ?

I cant remember which ones exactly but two of the ones ive circled in red are labeled VR3 and VR4. VR4 changes the speedo offset. VR3 changes the slope. This bit i havent confirmed but VR1 adjusts temp gauge offset VR2 fuel gauge offset, VR5 and VR6 adjust the offset and slope for the tacho...

P38A What are the tallest tires you can put on a standard P38 16 inch rims ?

Incorrect There are two potentiometers on the back of the gauge cluster that are used to calibrate the speedo. They where used on the police cars to get an accurate speedo. They only calibrate the speedo itself though, so your distance measurements will be off.

P38A What are the tallest tires you can put on a standard P38 16 inch rims ?

There is almost no diffrence in steering and turning circle. High speed cornering is worse but are you going to race tracks in your P38? There is a huge diffrence in off road performance between stock and the 235/85R16

P38A What are the tallest tires you can put on a standard P38 16 inch rims ?

Im going to have to disagree with this. We have a P38 on stock air suspension thats on 235/85R16 and they fit. They do touch very slightly but not nearly enough to warrant trimming. On the rear axle under full compression they touch slightly on the top of the wheel arch liner. On the front axle...

    [P38] Exhaust gases in coolant

Yeah if you didnt put the engine under load and the cap hadnt vented coolant yet i dont think you would have done damage. If you just idling your cylinder temps wont be very much above coolant temps. But on the other hand if you have 118deg coolant temp but you at 50% engine load your cylinder...
