Hi Alex, I'm 16 turning 17 in October and am very interested in getting a defender as my first car (think my dad might be a fan of the idea too!) I was doing some research and found your post and I'm interested to see if you have any tips for which model would be appropriate? What I need to be looking out for when searching around? and just any advice at all that you could give me regarding age, price (Reckon I'll have around 4k to play with), work I need to be prepared to do, engine size and just any advice at all would be brilliant. Also how much was your insurance and how bad is the fuel consumption? Any help would brilliant and I do hope you get back to me, cheers! p.s. Your car's really cool!

Hi, the Central locking is brill, i bought the car with it and looks easy enough to install. Having a friend with a feild is bloody brill !!! my drive way is fairly pot holed but that much !!! where in the world are you located ? have you a winch ?
