If the syncmate hasn't worked means that the vehicle hasn't lost it's code.

OR, your ODB socket has corrosion. Just drop the socket down & take a look.

I've only just noticed that i joined in 2007 & i've just entered my first post.

Worth a try anyway. I hope you will find its something simple like a bad connection. I would double check you are getting supply through the relays with 12v tester. Sounds like your fuse box has got hot from the description of your fuses. Box is about £150 and is a straightforward swap if you are confident disconecting and reconnecting the multiplugs underneath. If not let a garage do it. I'd be interested to know when you resolve it and where the fault was.

Gemsdad,

You're not wrong there. Becm's aren't made anymore & all the new units are rebuilts.

Not only do we rebuild them for the main dealers we also cater for all the private repairs, like yourselve's.

The reason how i know the syncmates work is that i commissioned blackbox solutions to design that specific tool but when it was in production i suffered two major brain haemorrhages. No one thought i was going to make it. Blackbox still supplied all my customers & the demand for them took off. They work.

That probably also answers a previous post by a member stating i never answer my phone. That was because i was stuck in hospital for a while. The other statement made is completely wrong, we're not expensive, probably the cheapest & we don't bull**** our customers about what fault the becm has or rip anyone off like another company mentioned on here.

Anyway, I'm here to share some knowledge & if i can help or guide anyone to fix something theirselves, then that makes it even better.

evening guys

got the car back today, aparrently the becm had "wiped" itself and needed a full reset with i think he said an auot logik computer. £132 lighter in the pocket today, £30 lighter for the thief with the computer to come out and plug it in, and £130 lighter for the becm syncmate, i think ill be looking for a decent secondhand computer, then ill be able to sort it myself, and for a small contributerary fee ill be able to at least let anyone else in the area either know whats wrong with theirs or be able to rectify the problem.

once again cheers for all the advice guys

glyn
