Does anyone know if series 3 parts are interchangeable with series 2 parts? (eg door tops, bodywork, running gear) Sorry if this is a no brain'er but i'm new to the world of landys and I'm looking at buying a series 3 parts landy to supply my series 2. Cheers

Knowing the way Landrovers have evolved I would suggest 99% of parts will be interchange;)able

Yes & no.

The parts are similar, but often with subtle differences. It also depends what you mean by "fit". I.E. bolt straight on with no mods, or can be made to fit easily.
Often complete units can be interchanged, but the internals can't. This can make buying parts a nightmare if you don't know what is fitted.
As an example, the complete axles are interchangeable, but the wheel studs are a different diameter, this means in turn the brake drums are different, as are the stub axles.......

Yeah! Agree with above.
All I can add, is that by the parts lists, theres more differences between an early SII and a last of the line SIIA, than there is between a last of the line SIIA and ANY of the SIII's which had fewest detail changes of any version of Landy in thier production run.

Cheers, thanks for that guys. I'll have to look up some parts lists and check if the parts I need to replace are the same parts carried on the series 3. thanks again :)
