as most of you know yesterday i took out a breakdown cover with the aa where they pay the first £500 of any repairs, well i went out tonight at half 6 and when i was out my steering snapped, the luckiest bit of all was i took the cover out at 6.30 yeasteday and it takes 24hrs for cover to startand i phoned them at 6.45

Breakdown warranty cover takes 14 days to come into force.
I have it (as every P38 owner should!!).

Once you've nominated a vehicle to be covered by Breakdown Repair Cover:
1. Keep it serviced in line with the manufacturers' recommendations. Servicing must be completed by a suitable garage business.
2. If you break down, you need to call the AA for assistance for any subsequent claim to be considered.
3. You can only claim on your Breakdown Repair Cover policy for faults that occur at least 14 days after the policy start date.
4. If you change your nominated vehicle, you won't be able to claim for 14 days after making the change.

it's deffo 14 days - and you have to pay up front to claim back yer 500 squid - and the AA take months and months to settle the claim

on phone yesterday they said 24hrs and when i phoned them they even said i was lucky it was over 24hrs

well if it really is just 24 hours they will be taken for a right ride as those terms deserve to be abused - and probably will be

ill se tom they are picking it up tom morning to take it to the garage as it was to late tonight they took over an hour to come and the recovery firm were only 1 mile away
