Erm What engine? If it is a TD that is normal, TDI something is wrong, TD5 something is wrong big time :p

has mud tires on it but other than that is all standard as far as im aware.
yer bt at least urs can get up2 90! :D
60 is the max, its comfortable at 50

Had an indicated 72 out of mine running 225/70/16's Roadtyres, I was on the A303 on Saturday But that was downhill and The speedo reads at least 5mph faster than the Satnav did, Before some bastid nicked it on Wednesday Night.

my 300 is happy to go to 70 but no more

That aint right, I have small tyres and defender t-box and I can get mine to 90 np... Not saying it should be done but it will do it np.

Search on here for 300tdi maintenance like manifold etc... I cleaned my manifold and the difference was night and day.

Mine sits nicely at about 55, 60 is starting to push it, but thats on Insa Spec Tracks...Noisy! :p
(those are Speedo indicated - I have a satnav to compare the speeds, but not done it yet)

hmm.. my 2.5na which I gather is pretty much like the TD, but without the T, does 70 easily, and I'm absolutely sure she'd go faster, but I don't really do faster than 55 or 60 max usually if I'm on the open road. I think going faster might increase the wear on everything. If you get a more powerful engine or different transmission that will do 90mph, I don't know if the bearings are happy to go that fast, or tyres/suspension/gearbox/transmission etc.. let alone the engine hehe

hmmm my 1992 200tdi struggles to go faster than 55-60mph? is there something wrong then i thought that was normal for that engine cos a friend of mines 200tdi does exactly the same thing? does this mean they are both broken lol?

My 200tdi has large a/t bf goodrich tyres and a snorkel other than that it has no mods. what should i do?
Also im only getting 17-22 mpg
cheers max

Have a word with CharlseY he's a bit of an expert in the injection dept. (watch for that to appear on sig somewhere) Sounds like somethings up with that fuel economy. I drive my TD5 fairly hard over B roads every day and get get at least 30 mpg out of it. I know a TD5 is a more modern engine, but that's basicly 40% less fuel consumption, which sounds too big a difference and a 200tdi is meant to last 250k miles.
