p38 bmw

Hi new to this but need some advise? seem to be losing water but no visible sign of a leak! its running fine leak seems to be getting worse, and overheating, changed the oil the other day and there was water in the sump not a great deal but some? any ideas? changed stat runs fine until water level drops

Have a look through the previous threads and see if there is one with info on this fault. I think it is at the bottom of the forum page, but you'll have to check. Come back if you have any probs.

Unfortunately you more than likely have a blown head gasket. Get it checked out (sniff test) by a specialist.
Its the major downside of the P38 diesel, they are really prone to blowing the head gasket.

or you can buy my bmw p38 engine with new head gasket?? at least you know your not gonna take your head off only to find it may be cracked???

p.s. its 500 quid.
