squeal ,300tdi

hi please help its driving me mad ,1996 300tdi disco ,no air con ,for the first year no squeal ,superb,then it started ,replaced the drive belt ,two weeks later it started again ,was told it cud be alternator ,so replaced ,was then told evan new belts squeal ,so got another ,still squealed ,replaced the tentioner ,a mile down the road it started agian .then a local 4x4 garage told me the rad was leaking ,replaced rad ,still squealed ,just put a new landrover belt on it ,still squeals ,put talc powder on it and it stops it for 2 or 3 days ,please help driving me around the bend ,and about £300 later ,.thanks

Sorry mate this is gonna be expensive.

1) Find yerself a 1p piece.
2) Loosen off the fanbelt tensioner.
3) Insert 1p piece in the 9 o' colock position behind the tensioner
4) tighten up tensioner
5) sit back and listen to silence

that depends on how flush you're feeling? If you have money then you could put another one in. If you are skint then use a washer.:doh:

I had one in my previous landy for about a year and it never fell out.

Has yours fallen silent now?

its not doing it any more but then i did pour lots of telc powder over it sunday ,thanks for your help its worth every penny ,thanks

Tiz a reet bugger that - £300 later and yu cud have fixed it ages ago for 1p and 10 minutes work .:bolt:.
