Auto Glyn works well and last about 4 months, easier to put on with a sponge than a cloth

Probably have to be a very good swimmer to collect the whale sperm, I've never seen it in Holland and Barrett.

Linseed oil is brilliant, cheap and non-toxic. Environmentally friendly too!

You can get it at your local handyman DIY store, sports outlets (used for oiling cricket bats) or online from Screwfix etc.

Costs a few pounds per bottle and an application can last 6 months to a year, depending on the vehicle's exposure to dust and rain. I probably do ours a couple of times a year, three at most.

I was given some "TRIM WIZARD" and it worked well. It got rid of the white marks that were left when I caught the trim whilst polishing the paintwok. It looks and smells just like Linseed Oil and that is probably the cheapest way to buy it. Wipe it on and buff it up. Restored all the black trim. Give it a try.

I have a nut allergy and am as bald as a coot, so I cannot comment on the hot air or peanut butter. As for Whale Sperm, I did find a supplier in Cardiff. I drove all the way there and the sat nav took me straight to a ladies hairdressers called 'Wales Perm'

Any vegetable oil does the trick (as long as it is clean and used sparingly), but linseed does seem to be the favourite. You can polish your bat at the same time!

bussta,just go on to google and type in forever black,and hit enter,and it will bring up there web site,its not a spray,its a dye and it dye's your bumpers black,and its last for ever

Hi i use dash dandy from my works for the bumbers etc as it is silicone based its ace easy to put on and wipe off and looks the dogs .......

Brylcream or hair gel should do the trick. Must be some kickin' about... try the tool roll

By far the best plastic treatment I've used is Meguiars All Season Protector. It's very good, completely streak free and beads water very well. It doesn't feel greasy and the plastics seem really well protected with it on.

The finish is very nice, not overly shiney (can look cheap in my opinion) but this stuff will last months.

I must admit though I ordered some black dye after seeing it on here as UV damage had already been done on my 98 Hippo bumpers. Hopefully using the megs on top will keep them looking nice until the car dies........ a couple of months probably!
