Cassette has to completely come off the vehicle so big hole in the roof while you remove the sunshade. Cassette can then be refitted to keep the car weatherproof but will need removing again to refit the recovered sunshade. Its only 8 m6 bolts just a pain because its bloody heavy .

My query is does the sunroof whole cassette need to come out if (and I do need to) the sunshade panel needs recovering?my plan is to keep driving about and recover the headliner and sunshade at my leisure after its removed. So can the shade be removed leaving the cassette untouched and I can just pop the seatbelts back on etc and still use the car.
