Freelander 1 Jatco Auto Gearbox Part Code

Hello informed people. I wrote a little while back about auto gearbox problems. I'm still hunting an auto gearbox for Freelander 1, TD4, 2.0 Diesel, Automatic, 2002, (BMW/204D3).
Chasis Number SALLNAAE22A227696

I'm confused on the part code that I need. Some say the PR006 is suitable, others say it's the PR016 is suitable.

I will be having the auto gearbox shipped to Spain, so I absolutely need to know the part number is right, and sending it back if it's wrong is not an option.

Can anyone help?

In other news there seems to be huge demand for these auto gearboxes...difficult to find.

The FL1 v6 version of the jatco jf506e auto has PR005 on top. It's located by the serial number, by the small L shape breather tube on top of the auto gearbox. The v6 version is different to the td4 version. Different gear ratio's. Have a look on top of yer old gearbox to see what it is.

Hi again. I have found out my gearbox is PR006.

Do you know the difference between the PR016 and PR006?

They appear to be almost exactly the same for Land Rover Freelander, 2002, TD4, 2.0, Diesel, Automatic. Motor BMW/204D3.

Any ideas?

Hi, not sure about the differences with the Jatco JF506E (TD4/V6) boxes but if you google www.jpat.co.uk (good exploded diagrams) or tel 01934 852772 they should be able to help you (I've spoken to them today about spare parts for these boxes as mine lost reverse on Tues). Hope this helps.

Bell housing is different, gear ratios are different, starter location is different, same basic design box, heavily modified for the individual engine application.

I've never seen a PR016 on a Freelander.
What year and vehicle is it off?
