The defender ones have a spring in the channel that act to hold it open, pic below. I would suggest looking at that is similar to the front doors which is just a check strap to prevent opening too far.

I don't think the series doors 'click-n-stay' but the defenders do.

Mine wasn't operating as it should so I bought a new strap and spring and installed it.
You need to do a bit of welding and hopefully the pics make sense ...

The following pic is where the strap fits to the rear tub. As you can see it was a bit of a mess.
I fitted a new plate to the back and bolted the strap through to make it all secure.

You can also get a gas-strut kit which hold the door open.
My friend has one on his Defender, the door opens (by itself) and you need to push it closed.

It works when the car is at any angle and was easy to fit.
