I’m removing my hardtop and replacing it with a hood and stick set, Can anyone recommend a set other than the Exmoor trim set? It looks good enough in the pics but I remember buying a centre cubby box for a defender about 15 years ago and I was far from impressed with the quality. I know it’s a long time ago but when you’ve had a bad experience you tend to remember it.

Mine is from Exmoor, sticks are good hoods lasted 4 years, back window split, roll up fittings on the top have ripped and the front side top where it goes over the sharks teeth have split, canvas is thin and nasty wouldnt have another one. 00A68780-AE71-42B0-87D3-638761EEA637.jpeg

Mate gave me a massive thick ex mil one, its ancient but sound and totally solid. I dont know if i got a dud, doubt it though, the bits where the tensioning straps are sewn on seem particularly vulnerable. I might get a bikini hood and a fume curtain, debating the matter

We used under cover covers. Made a truck cab canvas & removable rear tub cover.
Also made a full canvas had these a few years now no problems with the windows cracking.

Yes you may have a wait on receiving the goods

I have an Undercover Covers canvas hood. The quality is very good. The Exmoor Trim hoods I have seen are of lower quality than my Undercover Covers hood. Note, their website is not very good so you are best to call them and discuss your requirements.

Allwheeltrim were very good when I ordered one about 18 months ago, bit of a wait for it to be made, but worth it.
Very good service and well made.

Can definitely recommend this.

I run just the bikini top 75% of the time, then pop on door tops and the fume curtain if it's chilly or expecting to rain.

I don't run the drain channels from screen to hoop, just the bikini top by itself. Yes there's a small gap around the door top when fitted but I've only ever got a damp shoulder and that was in a torrential thunder storm.

I see what you mean about the website!

Love it thats the plan I think.

I could go over it again with a tarp. Triple ply! Bit of rock wool in between for good measure

You could entomb it in the worlds most waterproof stuff a billion times over and it would still leak, good luck wi yer hood, I like the look of the allwheeltrim ones maself

I would put another vote in for under cover covers. Excellent product and excellent service as long as you speak to them rather than use the website. Mine from them is just about coming up for Replacement but I have had it nearly 10 years and it lives outside and I never treated. So my own fault really.
