Freelander 1 Help! TD4 won’t start

Morning all

car is throwing up a P1605 code which will not allow it to start

I’ve deleted the code and it comes back once I try to start it

It will start after being jumped by my disco

can any of you good folk assist me please?

Quick search on here shows 1605 as an error code relating to the auto box. Dunno why that would stop it starting unless it thinks its in gear or summat.
