The wood finish does match nicely with the tan interior.
Have you considered the double-din mod that would update the interior of the disco with a modern android based multimedia system?
Yeah originally it was going to stay light coloured but now having different ideas.

I have seen the mod but not interested in doing any stereo work atm.

Painted my track rod ends ready for fitting on friday along side my finished panhard rod :D

Fitted my panhard bar and Adrenalin 4X4 HD steering arms this Saturday. Aligned both axles and set the alignment to toe out 3 degrees. The previous set up was toe out to 1.5 degrees. The spec is 0-10 toe out so I went for 3. It feels better than ever and now my steering wheel is straight again!! Also checked the uj and steering box for any play while I was at it. Happy to report back all good :)

Also finished and installed my torque pro phone mount I made from oak. I decided to stain it black. My main screen is set up to display my GPS speed, battery voltage, gps trip, total gps trip, intake air temp and coolant temperature. I have it set up to show that my coolant temp is cold by a blue thermostat logo, this disappears when up to temp. If it ever gets to 100c the alarm goes off and a red thermostat logo appears on the screen. If my battery volts go below 12v a red battery logo appears. The trips and speed are accurate now with the larger tyres. On my other screens I have one set up for various fuelling and the 3rd screen set up for a inclinometer.

So just completed the landy's first proper adventure! A week away in the Cotswolds with my family. Travelled 634 perfect fault free miles and even worked out my MPG after all the mods etc. Very happy with the results, on a run on motorways etc over 201.65 miles I managed 20.49mpg and that's with 4 passengers and a fully loaded boot traveling between 65 and 70mph. Driving round the countryside with big steep hills etc carrying 4 passengers over 238.77 miles I managed 15.83mpg. Very happy with those figures. Prior to the mods driving round the countryside my fuel consumption was 13.61mpg. So he's now more fuel efficient!:cool:

Here's a photo dump from the trip...

So I noticed a a bit of pink coolant on my oil filter and my new panhard rod. Upon inspection I found the water pump to be the culprit. This was probably the only this I didn't change when doing the engine. The previous owner said it wasn't very old and looked great so I left it. The cost was building up at the time. So on went the new water pump and more fresh coolant!

Made a start on the rest of the rust prevention that I had to cut short when doing the chassis. Wednesdays task was the passenger side sill and floor. Stripped all the paint off and removed any surface rust. Degreased and then gave it 2 coats of corroless qdr.

So after looking at the prices and condition of the second-hand scuttle panels I decided to buy a brand new one! I also got all new fixings, blanks etc I fitted some stainless mesh over the new foam filter and installed some modified clips in gloss black. Hopefully this will prevent the foam from ripping. I cleaned up the brass nuts and replaced the rusty washers with nice new stainless ones.

The old one snapped in half by itself and has smaller cracks at each end!!

Been busy preparing my LPG reinstallation! Originally it was a right bodge job from the past. Terrible fitting of the tanks. So I've got some new tanks, brackets and everything else. Popped into work today and welded some long bolts to the new brackets so I can fit the tank and both brackets in one go and bolt through the floor.

Then I made some plates to go on the inside to strengthen the floor.

Also replaced the lower bulb in the heater unit. Didn't even release that it was supposed to light up, been out since I've had it! Much better now.
