Set the Valve Clearances, even on a 230k mile 300tdi it’s quieter! (Well, relatively!)

New Front ARB bushes tomorrow, fit the carpet set and sill covers (stainless, bit blingy!) touch up the paint where primer currently lives and it’s done.

The before and after pics will flow…

I was thinking respray, but that’s for the next owner to decide!

Bought a mantec SwingAway spare wheel carrier on eBay. It looked much better quality than many. Unfortunately, Parcelforce were a bit quicker delivering it than I anticipated and Mrs K got to it whilst I was at work… Still, I didn’t get too mech of an ear bashing and it’s safely in the garage awaiting that rare day that I can fit it, together with numerous other bits I’ve acquired!

Today I started fitting the MUD dash Got the dash cut and mounting plate on and secure, just need to work out where I could put a hole to run the pipe for the oil pressure gauge straight in to it

Replaced the rear door hinges on Landy as she was rattling everytime we went over a bit og gravel :)

Now even though I have pretty much replaced everything on Landy over the last 3 years I fell in to the trap of watching youtube videos of how easy it is - BIG MISTAKE.

Every bolt door side came out no problem. Every bolt on the other side not so much. Wasted an hour trying to get them out with various things then just got my trusted angle grinder out and just butchered the hinges and then nipped off the bolt. heads.

All of the worst jobs on Landy have all been to do with siezed or rusted bolts! Ogh and 2 nuts were imperial !!

Anyhoo all sorted and the back door is now beautifully smooth and all the bolts copper greased for next time!
