Hi all, i would like to replace both front door rubbers (value part from JGS4x4) but there is quite a bit of rust to be dealt with in the front pillar. Can this be rubbed down and treated with rust converter and filled, or should it be cut out and patched? Appreciate your advise!

I would be tempted to remove the upper and lower dash covers and have a better look at the state of the bulkhead and around the screen 'hinges'.
The passenger side is easier to get at fron the underside as apart from the door strap cover the windscreen wiper motor cover is easy to remove.

Rust convertor and filler is just a patch, you need to discover the extent of the oxidisation and where the water is coming from.

As above. Remove the dash and see the full extent of the rust. It will be worse than you first think. The bulkhead is also structural so needs repairing. Filler will only be cosmetic.

I predict that welding is in the future;)

embrace rot and either patch (filler) for the short term or get it sorted (weld)

thats a suspiciously straight line / border where the paint stops and the rust starts:confused:

filler maybe????o_O

personally I'd start saving for the weld repair:cool:

Rich.
