I'm having problems getting my L Reg (94) 300tdi insured...
AXA and Admiral have both said "No" (to old), Lancaster are up near £180 (it was £93 last year), AdFlux seem to be reasonable (just above the ton) but i'm surprised that its considered too old .....

Anyone got any reccommendations who to call ?

Have you tried the comparison websites ?
Car insurance is a can of worms & quotes are calculated using a plethora of circumstances; often the result is un-comprehendible :(
As an example, I've just re-insured our 24yo daily driver on a standard car policy for less than I was quoted for (normally cheaper) classic car cover.

Years ago, when I was in my 'fifties, Saga were the highest quotes for any of my ordinary family models, until I bought a BMW; work that one out o_O

Stay away from Footman James.
Every one I have called is in the 'near to £110' range, Footloose Jimmy is up over £230 and are now calling me and sending me eMails on a daily basis, despite me telling them to Foxtrot Oscar - unbelievable,

Try A-Plan in Thatcham - both our D1's are insured with them...

No affiliation - just a satisfied customer :)

(I'll PM you a phone number ... ).
