It appears I am not the first to make a repair in here. That is not original gauge wire.

Nice, don't forget a cushion so you don't get piles and blinkers and ear defenders so you can't see the rolling eyes and hear the sarcastic remarks.Mind you you won't hear the rustle of a teabag. Think you may have found the source of your problems fingers crossed.;):D:rolleyes:

So this was the state of the joints in this repair.

I put in a few patches which appears to have worked, but I had to wait 30mins for Key Code Lockout, so I'll try starting it in the morning. Not 100% happy with my patch though, so I've ordered a soldering iron to do it properly. Crimps just aren't giving me that fuzzy feeling.

Depends how worn they are. Put the fronts on the back and the new tyres on the front as in my experience the fronts wear quicker.

I see what you're saying but given the rears are supposed to be 38psi and the fronts 28psi (Wammers always claimed in order to preload the VCU) wouldn't it make sense to leave the new on the baxk but drop them to 34psi?

I struggle to see it making much difference to be honest but I am no expert. My tyres seem to wear pretty evenly but then I rotate them every so often.

Unless loaded, I run mine at 28psi front and rear. Pre loading a viscous coupling is nonsense, the greater the degree of rotational difference, the more it locks. I rotate my wheels to keep the wear even as the fronts wear quicker than the rears, not surprising with the steering inputs added to the traction.

I’ve been running extremely aggressive treads with completely different tyres front/back for years with no issues other than what would be normal at the age/mileage if they were normal sized. I keep the rear pressures higher then front 32/36psi which seems to keep it happy. I can tell if rear pressures drop

I don't know if anyone is interested in this, it's just lying around the garden from when I sold my P38, the reason I put it here and not in the for sale section is, I know you lot, I don't want someone to buy it and sell it on to make a profit (I could do that)
Anyway it's a RR P38 boot liner (I almost sure it) OEM, you will have to pick it up from TW19 7TB I don't have that many stamps to stick on to it, and I am not going to wrap it, make me an offer? It was dirty, but the wife cleaned it up a lot, and it could do with a better clean up, no damage on it that I can see, it's made of plastic or fibreglass (the latter I think) but here it is PM me some picks for you.......

Could've sold this when I still lived in Hounslow. So inconsiderate.
