Hello to all you folks, quick note to introduce me and my recently acquired 1989 Land Rover 90- 2.5TD.
And yes it's slow, it's noisy, it's smokey, it leaks, it steers like a barge and has a unique aroma, but all that aside I love it!
Looking forward to a nice list of issues to resolve, and I know most of these can be sorted with the collective knowledge of this forum, so thanks in advance.

Hi and welcome!

Tidy looking Landy. Make sure it stays yours with some decent security measures too.
Nice to see an original looking one. They’re getting rarer.

Welcome to LZ!

That looks like a rare unmolested example. Well done for finding that.

I see you have a cardboard box ready to put in the back to collect parts that fall off! :D

Thanks for the welcomes folks, I do prefer the original/classic look, I'm all for sensible improvements but not one for fancy mods.

Any way will be in touch to glean a bit of knowledge from you all.

Lovely looking thing!

Some of the leaks can probably be sorted, and the smoking shouldn't be impossible to sort. The steering either is what it is, or it's a bit of a bugger to sort out. Get a thread going in the Defender section for the first job and see where you end up. One job always leads to at least one more though ;)

Drive it sensibly and sensitively and it'll out live you :)

Yes will be adding a new thread shortly, need to give things a good clean down first a it's not easy to see where the leaks start!!
