Freelander 1 Parcel Shelf Colour Change

I have managed to get myself a 3 door parcel shelf but it is in Smoke Stone colour and my interior is black, is it possible to dye, paint or change the colour to black, if so what is recommended?

There used to be a paint available to re-colour interior trim.
However I've not seen it for sale for many years, and in my experience, it didn't stick too well.
It would likely be easier to cover it in fake leather type vinyl, which is what I'd do myself.

I wonder if the rubbery paint like plasti dip or rubbercomp/shield would work?

I think this may be the best route to go with it, or maybe just sell it on.
