Same here lots of fun fireing the plastic bullets at each other.View attachment 261562

Yes! That is exactly the one I had. Eventually I snapped the barrel about 3" forward of the stock; but then decided it just made it look more like an Uzi, so loved it more. Growing up in the 60s and 70s my friends and I played with mock weapons all the time. These days people would frown on kids playing with "guns" - so now they stay in doors and play Call of Duty instead. I think it was both mentally and physically healthier in my day.

Would one of these fit the bill

Appears they won't sell you one of those ^^^ unless:
All guns we stock are legal to sell in the UK, with the relevant criteria being met, when ordering an Airsoft gun that looks realistic then by LAW you need to be a member of an insured club or group or have an exception to purchase ie: film company, museum, crown servant, military re-enactment and be over 18. We accept the following memberships when ordering a realistic looking Airsoft gun or BB gun (non painted guns) UKARA, UKASA, AFRA, SWAT, MVT, BASC Just Cos, Sportsman Association and Shooters Rights Association etc, if unsure of your club please email us.
But you can buy one that's had a paint job - or you could if they had any stock. Shocking pink would be nice :)

if its to go in an ex-mil land rover isnt that renactment?

I'm in America so I'm not sure about how you could pull this off. But if you buy the upper receiver and other cosmetics (wood stocks and foregrip etc) you could get a 3D printed inactive lower receiver to attach. It would take some work and spray painting but it would fit the bill and there's no way for it to be activated.
