... general shout out for suggestions for what I can use for a washing-line pole that won't rot away.
We need something with a decent height and everything I find called "washing line XXXX" is only 8' tall.
So, suggestions on a postcard to "Clarke Towers" etc. etc. etc.

I can only think of what that sort of power would have been like in my old skool Mini! Feck off mad!
Can't help but think that a supercharger would give more immediate power but then with that much under your right foot, who gives a fuck!:):):)
You'll need feck off wide tyres to keep the wheels from spinning all the time! Hope the gearbox/diff can take it.
Deffo a track car now!:):):)

Chap not far from here had a z cars mini with a hayabusa engine, rwd mental thing. :D:D

Morning All :D
A lovely day here again :)
I cannot get rid of the Saharan sand that is over everything. If you wash it off it turns to a runny mud and just dries again and looks awful.:(
It is all over the front windows and the tiled sills. Looks ghastly. :(
Sis & her new man John are coming to stay today. A good time may be had by all I think. :)
Have a good day. :)

It came out of one of these closed-down factories after someone thought it was a good idea to put all our faith in China and cheap labour.
When it was brought to me ( by the man who has just sorted out my overlocker - by coincidence - he looked older and so do I  ) he came with it in two parts - machine (like a heavy duty version of a domestic sewing machine) and the 'table' it slots into, all in the rear of his family car and he lifted it by himself - but it looked a bit heavy.
It is all manual 'cos I don't think they had invented electronic ones then.
It is Brother (Made in Japan ) model DB2-B763-3 if that brings any thing up in Google.
"One man's (woman's) junk can be another's treasure.":D:D:D
If you are interested I will shift some of my junk around and try to get a meaningful photo for you.
Ask the boss and let me know if you might want it as it stands a chance of getting on the list for getting rid of as I too, am always looking for space.:rolleyes::rolleyes:
Right, thanks for all this.
If it is manual then I don't think we will be able to go any further with this, sadly We already have a manual Singer at home which is what I have used up till now, it is slow but will handle thick materials. So I bought an electric Singer a while back off the Bay which works but needs me to see to the motor a bit. I was just hoping that your machine would be electric and tougher to cope with thicker material. It fulfils the "tougher" bit but sadly not the "electric" bit.
So, sorry to have bothered you.:(:(:(

Ha, ha, it is 'electric' but not 'electronic'! Just a word of warning - these things go like the clappers as they are the workhorses of factory life and are built to withstand everything that is put to them. 'Electronic' in a sewing machine is when it is able to dial in a range of different pattern stitches-usually decorative 'embroidery' type things.
I'm not trying to convince you but thought it better to put you on the right track so that you know what to look for when you do get one to suit your needs.

Here's a couple of pics of it , has been under the covers you can see at the back and NOT cleaned up for the piccy. :rolleyes:IMG_1096.JPG IMG_1097.JPG
