You missed the oil change and wiping the spit off the inside of the windscreen ...

Ppppffff oil changes…. Sorry I forgot you need to top it up. It don’t stop inside the engine long enough to be changed.

Yep, I do the rolling oil change thing. It saves taking waste oil to the tip

Still got 10 litres of waste aviation oil from the lycoming oil change - plus the defender oil change

decided it was time to remove the (aftermarket) clock as it was draining the battery


also fit the Lucas turbo / boost gauge I've had stashed for such an occasion


also decided to replace the horribly crimped terminals on the illumination bulbholder with nicer items..

now need to fit the 200tdi so the gauge can do something

Got in, fired up and ran for a few seconds then dies; no sound from fuel pump. Thought it might be the connector to the pump which has a habit of coming loose but pressing/moving/twiddling it didn't make it come on again.
Tried to start and got lots of chattering and what's sounded like shorting noises (no smoke!) coming from the relays which are on the bulkhead wall engine side. Took out fuel and main relays (3.5 hot wire efi) cleaned terminals and replaced but still not firing, fuel pump o/s and chattering from relays.
A job for tomorrow.

Weird but two coincidental problems
A tiny bit of grit jamming the fuel pump impeller- no fuel, plus a loose connection to starter solenoid - chattering relays and no starter.
AOK now

Jesus we’re going balls deep on this visit to the workshop… bloody callipers are off now as the pistons are rusty as my Richard Sole and the disks are phooking ruined. Just add new brakes all round

I should have just scrapped it tbh.

He has decided to weld a bulkhead to the patch......

I have hitched up the trailer ready for another run to get some more metal for projects. Soon have enough for a new chassis at this rate!

I was thinking of dropping him a load for out riggers etc

Stripped the pistons out of the callipers today. The things are corroded to buggery. Now on the James for a piston and seal kit. I’ll give the refurbed callipers a coat of gold paint

Got bored waiting for Disco3 parts to arrive, so started the bulkhead sound insulation on the 90…
