Hi guys
Been watching a few video's on fitting electric steering to a Rover P4 4 cylinder model and they used the Easy Steer system which worked well but obviously a rover p4 is different to a landy so just wondered it anyone on here has fitted electric steering to thiers and how did you go about it please

Yes a search should find it. He did a very thorough job and posted a lot of photos. The Corsa units works fine and I know he is still driving the vehicle without any problems. Have a look at the Corsa unit and see if you have room, probably under the dash above the pedals. You have to cut the column and put the motor drive gear into it. Also you need an electronic signal generator (they are on e-bay) so you can fool the speed signal.
I would also look at the type of hydraulic assistance they used to fit in the US. This is mechanically a lot simpler with a jack fitting rather like a steering damper, but you need room for the PAS pump and if the engine never has PAS as a option that could be tricky too.
I do quite a lot of driving in my 109 and manage fine without PAS but I have upped the brake servo size as I found the brakes more challenging than the steering.

Think the Hastey or Steve Parker would be easier fit though...
 
Screw that. When the day comes, two grand and an easy to fit system that is made for the job.
All that chopping and building can take a running jump.

Heystee. The easy option.

Sorry, wasn't clear.

Instead of a pump driven by the engine, with all the extra pulleys and belts and so forth. If you had a pump driven by the electric motor, then you could fit a p38a box with the plate from Steve Parker, it might be easier.

Maybe but if Steve Parker hasn't thought of that and produced a kit then maybe thats your answer...
