Hi guys
New to range rovers but the one I have randomly does into trans fail safe... doesn't seem to be a "getting hot issue" it's a bit random.

No error codes in gear box...

Any ideas ? Guessing it could be the gear selector switch.

Thanks in advance

Bit more details of model would help a bit.

But everybody will say Battery first needs to be 110% tip top condition.

If that’s all your seeing and this time of year it’s the place to start

Oh and welcome:)

OK cheers chaps, she had absolutely no problem starting ...but I guess the gearbox ecu is very sensitive...

They are all bloody sensitive. Battery is always the first call. Unless any other faults show that give a better clue.

if it’s a keeper look at diagnostics of your own, worth their wt in gold:)
Good luck and please stick around and let us know how you get on:)

Welcome,as posted, battery especially if it's been standing. How old is the one fitted? If you need a new one the one from battery megastore MF100- 13 I think the number is the one widely recommended on here.
Alan, correct recommendation, but it's actually Hankook MF31-1000. I was going to buy one myself yesterday, but megastore out of stock. One on elsewere but almost £130 squids.
I was cursing mine yesterday after jump-starting mine every day for a week, then I found a loose terminal. Tightened it up and it started at first turn of key. Saved myself almost £130 if that's all it was.
