My 2002 TD4 has run faultlessly fo the last few years.
This week I drove the car several miles parked up an when I returned to the car It would not start. It turns over ok but nothing. I left it for an hour then it started straight away. A few days later I drove the car several miles again and the same thing happened.
Any ideas? Any help outdoors be appreciated.

If it's not starting when hot, but starts ok when the engine has cooled down, then the first thing to change is the cam position sensor. These often fail when hot, but the ECM doesn't use it once the engine is running, it's only used for starting, hence it won't start when hot.

Check connector in end of fuel rail too for green deposits and corrosion. Can produce intermittent non starting.
