Hi. i'm new to this Forum, and ask for advice.
My FL1 Td4's (2005) front brakes were giving a real graunching/crunching sound about 2 years ago, when braking.
I replaced the pads, hoses and the calipers, along with the fluid. Everything looked okay, by the way.
And all has been well, until now. The brakes are doing the same again.
I notice a huge amount of black dust appearing on the wheel rims, as they did when they previously graunched. it looks like carbon dust. The colour of coal.
I've bought new replacement disks and pads, replacing them tomorrow. Costing a lot.
Might anyone else know of a simlilar problem?
I am mystified.
I knew I shouldn't have traded-in my UFO!

graunch = pad metal to disc contact .. ..
look for better pads to suit ? i'd guess ..

the pad calipers sometimes seize .. leading to uneven wear
and one pad wearing at a much higher rate ..
i.e. graunch happens sooner ..

Had a problem with one of this splitting
As it was rubbing on the disc made the sound of pads gone

Thanks everyone. Sorry for not replying sooner. I've replaced both disks and pads with new. Greased all moving parts as well. The calipers were replaced with new a couple of years ago.
So far, they are working well. There was nuttin obvious though. I'm guessing poor quality pads. Got them of Autodoc. Wont again.
