Get yourself a file and keep in it everything to do with your case including date's/times of any exchanges including phone calls [ get a reference number for that call ] along with any paperwork or copy's of and photo's. Copy's of anything you send away. And do it recorded delivery.

GGOD NEWS!!

After submitting the damage report form Town and Country Land Rover (link), who is my local independent that I have been using for years and would highly recommend, I now have a Cat N write off category. The claim still needs to go through the claims department for settlement but at least I can now keep and begin to rebuild. I will continue this thread with rebuild progress.

That is FANTASTIC news - good on you for sticking with it :)

I thought I would give a quick update on the rebuild process and will continue to use this thread for the rebuild rather than start a new one.

I have acquired a replacement drivers side wing which with some gentle persuasion will soon be a straight as the one it is replacing. It might not be perfect but neither is the rest of the vehicle and I am not looking for concourse.

I have sourced a complete all be it rusty 300tdi bulkhead so am going to use the dash, loom, pedal boxes, heater etc form this bulkhead and fit them to the zinc plated bulkhead I already have.

I have started to paint the bulkhead and have given it a coat if primer (it now looks like it belongs on a fergie o_O). I am hoping to complete the painting of the bulkhead over Christmas so that it can be fitted in jan. Other than the engine this will be the biggest step forward in getting back on the road. Does anyone have or can point me towards a thread that details the "consumables" required for a bulkhead rebuild (seals, plastic screw inserts etc). if not I will just spend hours looking through the parts manuals and hope I order everything I will need.

In smaller parts I have repaired the usual cracks on the replacement rear door frame and have nearly finished painting that. That will be fitted over Christmas meaning it will almost be weather proof.

Works for me :D

You know full well why that is a problem, they should be kept in the tonka toy section and leave the proper tractoring to the boys in blue :D

I remember seeing a thread a while ago now about someone who was swapping their bulkhead and had listed a large number of the the replaceable parts/bolts/etc. that were needed for it but I now cannot find it in the search facility. Any body here know the thread that I mean?

Also have found a pic of one of the original Gauges that I do not know what it is called. What is this gauge called?

Does Anyone know where I could get another or have one spare they would be willing to sell?

I think it's a battery charge gauge with basic low-high scale rather than amps.
