Ok, how do you stop thieving scum nicking your price and joy? It at least, how do you put them off and make it hard work?
I've already had someone come with a tow truck 'wanna sell that old car'? today! If nobody was in, i wonder if my landy would still be here?
I've thought about a ground anchor with a hefty chain round the axle.
I've thought about removing a couple of wheels, including the spare.
It's not driveable, so that's a start at least.
What other options are there? Steering wheel off would be a visual deterrent.
Battery operated garage alarm in the back??
What does everyone else do?

You need layers of security. Peddle box, ignition barrel guard, tracker, cut offs etc

if they want it they’ll take it

Not much you can put on a 2A though, pedal security sounds good though.
I used to take the rotor arm off if i was worried, but it's not startable at the mo so that's pointless. Doesn't stop someone towing it though

I find living somewhere where no one pinches ve-hicles the bestest :)

Thinking 16mm chain to a ground anchor is an option. Bolt cutters will need to be very hefty, angle grinder will take ages and make lots of noise

Keep it in the garage when not in use, locked safely away from prying eyes.
When out in it dont leave it alone.
A lot like owning a motorbike really.

I don't have an option of a garage anymore :( and the council don't do them round here

1. move house and only buy with a garage / space to build garage
2. buy large car tent and store securely
3. rent suitable garage space and store securely

I'm thinking we all know the layered security drill/options + there are other points that really help @kermit, pls pm me :), chaining front/rear axles, concrete in security posts, good quality non-wireless/hard wired CCTV + I like 2-3 great big f*ck off/blow your ears off Bisley mines in local area & 1x inside Landy. Though as above, if a team of professional thieves want a vehicle they will plan the theft to the finest detail :. the absolute best security is the correct level of agreed value insurance.

Buy something that no one wants, like a Discovery, so you can leave it lying around and it will be there when you need it and will not cripple you or deafen you when you do use it.
My other one is on axle stands while I change the speed sensor. I do have a battery isolator on it but that is mostly to make sure the battery isn't flat.
When I was in the RAF MRT in the '80s we used to take the rotor arm off when we went out on the hill, each party carried a spare so the Landy was there when we got back to it, be a bit of a bother otherwise!. No chance of locking the old series 3 jalopies we had back then.
The garage my motorbikes are in have alarm mines fitted.

My garage has my bike and tools in, no room for poor landy :( I'd love to move out i had the money!!

There isn't anywhere to rent at any price!

Insurance is all well and good but doesn't get your pride and joy back! Had him over quarter of a century!!

Leave him with me then and he will be perfectly safe and you can come and take him out any time you want to :)
