D2 Alarm when locked

So recently acquired a Series 2 which I loving. Its just started to have an issue of whenever I lock it with the fobb after 10 seconds the alarm goes off.
Nothing in there to set of the motion alarm.

Also the key doesn't fit into the door so am unable to try and lock it that way.
Any suggestions?

You could see if the security system still goes into an alarm condition after removing and unplugging the ultrasonic sensor, and do that with both if your vehicle is fitted with two. Ultrasonic sensors can go faulty and become over sensitive.

@discool 's solution will enable you to live life a bit more normally and I will now be doing this too as soon as I can find the sensor(s) on mine as mine has the same problem. So cheers @discool.
BUT my key does work in the lock so this is what I have been doing for a while now.
One of my other Disco's has the same problem as you i.e. the key won't turn in the lock, so I have to take great care to ensure the car's battery is always charged up, otherwise I get locked out!
One day I will take the barrel of the lock out and work on the wafers inside to make sure that the key could open it if necessary. Failing that I'll have to either get a new barrel and key or at least see if I can get a locksmith to match a new key to the existing barrel.
Previous owners who do this to you when you buy the car are right dickheads.
Thinking about it, Land Rover will have the key number for the car, so you and I ought to be able to get new ones cut from that, but I bet LR will charge quite a bit for this. The only reason the key doesn't work in the lock is that the previous owner had the ignition barrel changed and only put that key in the fob.

The volumetric alarm can be disabled for good with diagnostic tool too instead of unplugging the sensors. They can suffer from water ingress as well
