Tips for refreshing the appearance of a tired looking work-surface anyone?
The main worksurface/breakfast bar in the kitchen is beginning to look "patchy" with wear areas and/or faded bits appearing.
I've tried T-cut/Mer car polish on it, but it hasn't helped. Anyone got any proven methods (other than total replacement with black granite/Onyx (which is what she would like).

Wot's it made of, Laminate?

Standard Chipboard/MDF with a formica type wrap.
,Maybe you could try one of those kits for making your headlights shiny again. They go down the grits then back up again. Might work. (Don't really need to get the kitt, just go for 80 grit then 120 then etc, etc until you get up to glass polish!!!!!)
Worst case scenario you go through it and have to fit another one the same! Or more expensiver.:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
If it fecks it up, don't blame me!!!;););)

I was thinking about doing this but then I thought again and think it might be best to get 'Mr Easy PC' in to do it for me - just in case.:rolleyes::)
I'm still on Windows 8.
So I'll be letting Windows 11 bed in for a few years before doing anything.
New pooter has Windows 10. Have yet to see much improvement, but the machine is playing up at the mo as regards charging. The charger gives the correct constant power but the pooter doesn't show the "on charge " light properly unless I fiddle like feck with the plug where it plugs into said pooter. Then sometimes, in fact usually, the "on/off " switch light and the "on charge " light pulse on/off every second or so. Together. Like a bloody Christmas tree!:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
The charger was new from the shop although the pooter was secondhand. Not sure if it really is the proper charger.
But all this lights flickering lark has only just started. So it is shelved and I am back on my old one until I can be bovvad to do something about it!
Grrrrrrrrr!:mad::mad::mad::mad:

I was reading about this last week, clean with vinegar then use car wax as you would on yer motor
then buff up, spray an oil based laminate polish all over it & leave over night & buff the day.
