P38A Compressor

Hi Guys. Just a small question, I bought a service kit for the spare compressor I have and within the kit is a thermal transistor, not my question is: Do you have to pull all the board off by drilling out the rivets and then un-soildering this off it and then re-soldering and doing a reverse refit or does the unit in the picture just z plug and ply unit. Thanks.

Unless the thermal switch has failed, there is no need to touch it. It's not plug & play.

I found I could sort of lever the edge of each rivet enough to pop the board off and then flatten it again afterwards.

As Data says, if it ain't broke don't touch it. Rarely fails.

Thanks Guys, but I did find when I looked at the back that the pink wire was not attached to any thing, but the only thing it could go into was a round small tube so re-soldered this back in place that could be why it never worked unless I had it on a separate manual power switch.

Hi Guys, when I opened the top I noticed the pink wire was not attached to anything but there wS like a small tube that looked like it came out of there,so I soldered it back in I wonder is that why it would not work unless I gave it a separate power feed to make it work.

I cannot remember what it looked like now but @kurtjohnson10 probably knows.

Yes the wire terminals on the PCB are crimps. Solder all three.

that will cause an issue, are you 100% sure he thermal trip is working ?

The compressor runs OK, but only from a separate power source via a switch, that's why I opened it up and noticed that the pink wire was not attached to any thing and the only connection I could find was the round clip so I fixed it into this,now just have to find the time to give it a go.

The pink wire earth's to run the compressor.

The pink wire is connected to the PCB using a useless crimp terminal. Make sure the wire is properly seated, and simply solder the wire into the terminal. Also check the thermal cutout shows connection to ground just in case.

So where can you get the new bushes from.

Not sure about bushes. @kurtjohnson10 is the man for EAS spares.

BTW Kurt, they are not my fingers . . . .got the picture via google because I could not find pics of the one I repaired.

Not sure where you get new bushes unfortunately, and i was looking at those hand in the pics and all i felt like saying was -
