Need to change two prop ujs on my 90 as they have play in them

One has only done 10,000 miles and they get greased once a month

I fitted rtc3458g (gkn part) and thought it would of lasted longer

I see tvc100010 is the superseded part and is the same size

Anyone know if there's a difference ?

I beleive that RTC3458GKN does not have the grease nipple where TVC100010 does, other than that they are the same size.
If you are destroying hardy spicers perhaps you should change the whole shaft ?

The last rear shaft I bought with GKN UJ's was circa £120 inc vat and shipping. GKN UJ's are around £25 each and take a while to fit, bolting on a new shaft takes 10 mins ...

Island 4x4 sell the expedition versions of GKN UJs. They have metal and rubber seals which should last longer if you are off roading on a regular basis.
No point in giving you the part number I use as my 1985 props have smaller UJs.

The rtc3458g I fitted have grease nipples (they must if changed them since)

Maybe ....

Il look at new shafts but nothing wrong with the old ones

Aye, it's just the time/effort I guess. If you can whip a UJ out and put the new one in without much time and effort then youre right, I found it so much easier and less time consuming to replace the shaft.
The Britpart one (I know ....) comes with a 2 year warranty ... for £60 + vat which isn't far off the price of two GKN UJ's.

I find the gkn ones easy enough to fit (had bother with Britpart in the past as they don't fit that well !)
I had hoped the new number was a HD version buy il look on island 4x4

Got some HD ones from Glyn Lewis
Bigger trunnion on tge Cross and seals have a steel cover on top
