Is this worth it or to dodgy

My old P has virtually none on it either but this L322 has a bad n/s back arch

So getting back to the chocolate box mpg for a diesel on the 322, why did they put a bad GM one in and not a decent ZF or Aisin and also give it more power for god sake.

probably cost, but then my one is chipped, destroyed 2 boxes and is now a manual

If you want performance, buy a car, the L322 is a smooth, safe, comfortable cruiser for which it has ample power. ZF boxes in my experience are not too good either in my experience, Aisin Warner seem to be bomb proof.

I'm not saying a need i want car like performance ect but would like to see mid 20s in this but because it's the old 3ltr straight 6 and not the 3.6 8 I'll need to live with late teens and not much power.

I think you are doing the vehicle a dis-service. I think I've now put 3 or 4 posts on this thread, about my straight 6 ,,3L, L322 and the returns I get.
If you have no grunt, and getting late teens, then the vehicle needs looked at. Perhaps someone can point you in the direction of where to start. I didn't see an answer to my question, about when did she last have a full service. Or even any of the fuel system looked at?
With the price of fuel these days, it makes sense to spend a little to save a lot.

I probably forgot to answer sorry, maybe I am ie doing it disservice, it was serviced about a month before I got as the owner was the mech I've used for the last 7 years and he's did quite a bit especially mechanically.
It's not prefect by any means but so far runs as it probably should, it's just after reading a few things about the 3.6 tdv8 I thought bugger I should have waited. Probably would have took till next year at some point but should have waited.

Plus the fact that it's not advisable to remap it because of the Cadbury's box, bugger again

I believe the 3.6 has its own problems with the turbos, Personally I would go for the 4.4TDV8.loads of power and respectful MPG.

That's out my price being a 10 plate on

If people believed ect everything they read online they'd never buy or drive anything.

Ah now some of the 'it's crap makes sense' . You married the girl you thought you loved, then met her sister and realised she was the one you should've waited for ;)
I still think something is wrong, if you live in a 'normal' driving area and the mpg is so low.

No I've not "met her sister" yet as I've not drove one only what I've read but maybe if I got a go in one I wouldn't want to go back in mine.

And btw at what point did I say "It's crap" I don't see it..

They do like putting words in your mouth don't they:rolleyes: I knew a guy when cautioned by plod replied " it's a fair cop, you've got me bag to rights Guv,":rolleyes::D

I might take a chance on a crd (Think that's the name) tuning box and wait for the auto box to give up.

From dtuk?

I'd avoid if I'm honest, especially on an older car. I used them on my Astra H back in the day when they first started developing them. I briefly had the most powerful H in the country.

... 10k miles down the road it shat the gearbox beyond repair.

I was paraphrasing the posts you have made, including this one:

So basically don't bother, I can't get the tdv8 right now but yes seemingly that's the one to go for as mine is the worst of everything ie crap mpg, power, box. Christ what's going for it, nothing by the sound of it.... makes the old P38 sound better.

Good for you
Was that aimed at me?
If so I 'm not sure why you are having an attitude. You have moaned about your vehicle being crap, you have complained about just about everything about it. You make it clear you wish you could afford a different version. None of that is my fault.
I have tried to say get the fuel system looked at, but you are determined the vehicle is crap -your word , that you then get a cob on and say you never said. Personally, i don't give a rat's posterior if you want to map a vehicle that can't take it, instead of looking for what is causing your low mpg. Go ahead lose money, but don't get all huffy with me, when I have been nothing but polite.
