What have you done on your 90/110/130 today?

Got home before it got dark last night so fitted the rear cover, quite happy with the quality and fit , just need a couple of hooks fitted at the front to loop the bungy cord to and jobs a goodn.
Thinking I will make some supports from 22mm copper pipe , fit some elbows on the ends which will hopefully slot into the existing tube holes that are inplace for a rag top frame.
It's nice and tight as is so maybe I'm over engineering things , back of my mind is snow or heavy rain forcing it into a pond liner

Replaced backrest foam on drivers seat as side bolsters had collapsed - forgotten how comfy and supportive the original seat could be... I thought I was up for a replacement seat... but thanks to Exmoor trim on youtube I have given it a go - easy to follow and clear instructions.

Nothing wrong with my original covers... might have a go at the seat bases as the foams must be well compressed after 130K.... look a bit more involved - at least they're easy to get out!

Pressure washed underneath, with the intention to waxoyl next weekend....

In between feeding baby knappster’s insatiable appetite for milk during the small hours, I perused eBay and purchased a discovery 2 coin tray switch conversion with a couple of carling switches and a USB port, for a good price. I wanted the switches so can hopefully sell on the coin tray switch panel unless I buy a disco 2 any time soon...:rolleyes:

I think my seat foam has had it too, every weekend I have sponge dandruff all around the top of the seat boxes and floor , I do like the look of the classic mini tub type seat with headrests but like yourself , it goes against the grain not to maintain the original landy seating atire

Absolutely nothing - it’s still marooned in the garage (2 weeks) that was due to do the pre MOT welding. MOT now expired, good thing it’s not the daily drive.

Grrrrr

Winter is coming so I thought I'd check my earths etc as starting from cold is taking a bit longer.
The battery earth cable to the chassis was quite rigid with an exposed corroded section and the bolt through the chassis was heavily corroded so that it had to be cut off.

New cable installed with a new butterfly clamp on the battery and a new bolt to the cleaned and bare metal chassis with a good dollop of grease.
Seemed to have gained about 1.5V which shows how vital a good earth is.
Now inspired to check and replace cables to alternator and starter motor.

I also think I need a new battery, the one from Tanya (020 Enduroline Car Battery 105Ah) is four years old and doesn't charge higher than 13.3V and unloaded shows 12.3V dropping to less than 12V under load, and the charge light glows weakly.

Quick question please..... for a 3.5V8 is an 020 105Ah CCA 800A overkill? Tanya suggested battery is a 069 75Ah CCA 660A Enduroline.
Cheers.

The current 105Ah from Tanya (Enduroline) is only four years old. Which takes me back to the alternator which I'm wondering is iffy - see

Get 14.1V from the alt with earthing the case but haven't read the voltage from alt to battery neg.

I've replaced the rectifier, regulator and brushes but the charge light glows weakly increasingly brighter with revs (only visible at night) and my gut feeling for the last few weeks is that the battery hasn't been charging properly.

Trickle charged the battery last night and she started on first turn and read 12.6V unloaded and ~13.2V running.

I still think its the alt; the windings were black and sooty looking and a lot of the lacquer has gone?

A year or two ago, I lost one of the rear mud flaps on the 90 due to the rubber deteriorating and splitting at the top. Now, the second one is also looking to jump ship in the same way. I bought a new genuine replacement on eBay when I lost the first one, which was around £21 + VAT. Now, the same are around £45 +VAT! Looks like I’ll have to bite the bullet and get one...
