Hi everyone. On Sunday morning I shall be picking up my "new" 1992 200 tdi Defender 90, which shall sit on the drive beside my 300 tdi Disco and my P38, so the house will look like a mid nineties Land Rover dealership from now on.

The 90 is a hardtop and has scabby body cappings on it which I want to change asap. Theres a used galv' set available on ebay but no part numbers and I havent got my one here yet to compare the parts against.

Is there any difference between body cappings on hardtops and pick ups? What are the differences?

Pre owned galv rare to come up 2nd hand, I would buy them and cross your fingers that they fit, if no good you can always resell them.
Ps, no I am not the seller:D

Want some for my 93 tdi, have you seen the price of new ones!

I did start to price up new ones..... but i stopped when I started to break out in a cold sweat...... :)

These ones are local which helps a bit, but if there were obvious differences between PU and hardtop id have saved my self the bother.

What do you need? PU or hardtop?

Yes there are a few different types, and different between 90 and 110. If you look on YRM website, find the set that is correct for what you are buying, then compare them to what you have seen for sale. I bought new genuine LR parts, galved from YRM when I rebuilt mine. Cost a fortune, but knew they were correct.

A set of capping's from an early 90 or 110 will fit,[ galvened up to D plate ] 110's will need shortening. Also 109 ones will fit [ shortened ] its what I have on my 1990 Ninety. Ones from an 88 will not fit due to there being less length in the cab space. No difference between hard top and pick up.

Thanks everyone. Hadn't thought of cutting longer ones down, but ill bear that in mind if these don't work out.
Im sure they will though. Theyre off a pickup, judging by the tailgate catches but im sure ill make them fit one way or another. Very reassured that you have pointed out that there is nothing significantly different, thank you.
