Hi, does anyone have a Td5 injector slide hammer that l can borrow or hire in the North East. I need to change my injector seals and l cannot justify spending a fortune on a tool that l will hopefully only use once?
Alternatively does anyone have one that they will sell me at an reasonable price?

There was a post on here not that long ago that suggested half of a pair of waterpump type pliers was an ideal tool for just leverin them out.
If I could find this post I'd post a link.
Others use an Allen key and an ordinary slide hammer, or another way of doing it. More than one way to skin a cat, and all that!!!

+1, worked for me.

They will pry out.

I think the problem is that if you have removed your injectors a few times and are confident in how to do it, then you can pry them out. However when I came to do it for the first time I found that only two could be pryed out, the others refused to move and I did not have the confidence to force them. So I bought the slide hammer tool on the grounds that I would rather invest in the correct tool than in replacing damaged injectors.

As the injectors are fired by the ECU and need the loom to be in place to fire, I'm not sure it would be possible to force them out by turning over the engine like a 200 Tdi.

what would happen?
The TD5 injectors just sit on a copper washer and come free with a small amount of force.
BUT they are inside the rocker cover, if you turn it over with the cover off then it will spray oil all over the place ( Ask how I know), and I would worry about the clamps if it actualy fired

Just an update,
I removed the injectors with two Allen keys. I started with a 4mm and worked it loose with a 6mm. I’m really pleased l did it this way as you get a feel of the injector and it’s not as violent as using a slide hammer or an adapted pipe wrench and hammer.

When you re fit the injector take care to clean the injector and the seat very thoroughly, I always stick the washer onto the injector with a little bit of grease so it wont fall off and get damaged.

Slide hammrs don't have to be violent. You can tap away quite gently until it comes loose. Glad you got them out.
After the first couple of mine cam out quite easily using a J bar I was very optimistic, but the remainder would not move no matter what I tried - Allen keys, pry bar, bigger pry bar. That's why I bit the bullet and bought the slide hammer.
If anyone is around Lincolnshire and needs to borrow it, let me know.
