My P38 is likely to spend a lot of time on my drive over winter. Makes sense to get a really good cover - any recommendations / suggestions? There are some interesting ones on eBay for £250-£285 but perhaps people have good / bad actual experiences to relate...

Covers are a bit of a PITA. They can rub at corners so I use pipe insulation foam to hold the cover off the car. Helps air get under to reduce condensation too. But then taking the damn thing off to get to the battery or move it or drive it becomes a chore and I end up just leaving it off.

Never bothered covering the Rangie as it is our main vehicle.

We use "stormforce" covers not the cheapest, but very good and have a soft inner. But as said if left for a long time they can rub.

Covers tend to do more harm than good. The wind can cause them to rub and as a result the top coat can go dull. They trap dirt and moisture too. Better off buying one of those car tents or just leave it under a car port.

I bought a cover for mine, made for a RR velar but fits the P38 like a glove £50.

Car port (or "cart lodge" as the estate agents call them) would be nice but not possible. I had a bad experience with a tent - after 2 years the top had weakened and a load of wet snow did for it - fortunately onto a pile of hay bales not a posh car.
I think I'll spend the cost of a cover on regular hand-washing at our local place, and a Spring steam clean + re-Waxoyl the underside.
