What did you do with your Range Rover today

Ones that are gone you can stand on the breaker bar and it won’t budge, solid. They should be little stiff.
Give Ashcroft a ring to check, website says no longer stocked but you never know. £320 for brand new Ashcroft would be nice
RTC 6044. RRC & P38
It is gone gone. Just noticed the right hand wheel though not as bad is also trimming down the outside shoulder. But I put that down to the left being the short side, so power is more likely to escape that way.

New tyres, new VCU, DIII, probably the thick end of 600 wangers. I might need to get a job on the side to fund my P38 habit.

I'll get back out with a knuckle bar, I don't have the luxury of a torque wrench, but a Google tells me if I can't rotate last 45 degrees, the VCU is goosed. Given my terrible MPGs recently. I think I know what is wrong. Ashcroft don't seem to do referb units anymore, so I am looking at 500 for a new one... plus 2 front tyres (only one is goosed, but only changing one also seems silly). Wonder if parts places take Klarna.

[Edit: My VCU is goosed. Currently sporting a RWD Range Rover while I source a refurb or new unit that doesn't break the bank... plus 2 new tyres... and some TBox juice. Fun!]

Ashcrofts used to di a whole refurbished transfer box for £650.

Not sure about the 45 degrees thing. It won't move fast.

Well, that's been a fun week. Fell ill last Friday and only just today out of bed. Exciting times they were not.
Anyway. I need to remove the BECM & engine ECU but is there any way for me to secure/lock the car without the BECM fitted and the driver's door latch being busted as well? I'm going to order a new door latch next week I reckon so can sort that but still won't be able to lock & unlock the doors (I think). Also, has anyone had experience with http://www.magnecor.co.uk? I'm looking at about £125 + postage I reckon. Can you folk recommend another vendor I should have a look into?

Cheers

Battery off. ECUs out. Lock using sill buttons except for the driver's door which can be locked with the key. If you don't have the key to the driver's door I wouldn't lock it.

You should get around 45 degrees just in slack, then expect 90 in 1min, anything else is supposed to be dead. Either way, mine is quite probably dead. Heavy steering, poor mpg, scrubbing tyres. I just got called into work and running RWD, I guess I didn't realise how bad it had got over time.

In an ideal world, I would like to change the whole TBox, but unless I start a GoFundMe, that is unlikely any time soon. Will have to make do with VCU and tyres for now.

Chipped off 21 yrs of scale and grindered orf the worst off the rust where I could access then sandblasted them which was most frustrating.

Had a happy time. Replaced air filter, fuel filter, pollen filters, oil and oil filter. Just love the cost of buying a kit to change filters on P38's (£21) + cost of oil (£33)
Did notice slight leak on spill pipe no 1 to no2 injectors, that's tomorrow's job. Luckily got a few feet left from when I had my disco. On average lasts 5-6years so keep it under lock and key

5-6 years:eek: I'm lucky to get months out of mine, took the Boss to the local market yesterday and I think I caught a whiff of diesel, something to check:rolleyes: I'd put it in the safe if I ever got some that lasted:D:D
