Hi there I’m a recently new owner to a gorgeous defender 110 which I’ve always wanted & finally found the perfect one (until this happened) lol

I’ll upload a file of what I’ve found would appreciate any input on best way forward & I presume not to drive it until fixed?

basically was just driving round locally after a 300mile trip & then felt a big clonk/bang/jerk & hazards came on & wouldn’t go off until engine switched off & restarted it wasn’t until I got home & got right underneath I noticed a split in the front part of what looks like the transfer box ? God knows why this has happened so any advise would be great

Thankyou

Were you playing with the tbox when this happened?

Changing gear using the tbox?

Cheers
I haven’t even touched the Tbox as I don’t even no how to use it I’m literally a newbie… so just from using normal gears

I’ve just been looking online and that side piece unbolts that has cracked on mine so could I possibly just buy replacement side piece & top oil up :/

just throwing ideas out here ;)

You need to know which part took a holiday and tried to make a big for freedom.
Or maybe you don't.. just source a replacement and swap it. I can't imagine it's worth even thinking about a repair.
But as said, can you give it back to wherever you bought it and let them fix it?

Something made it go bang,

If you got from a garage/ dealer take it back.

If you want to fix it your self you will need to send it to a specialist and get it rebuilt or speak to someone like ashcroft and get a recon unit.

Otherwise you are going to be stripping it into piecs and buying all the components to fix it.

Cheers

Sorry, not my area, give the garage you got it from a call, and ask them their thoughts, after all it will cost them to send a truck to pick it up.

they may know someone local who can do the job and charge them.

Cheers
