A facelift......
Not sure whether or not to keep the oval ali plaque?

I like the look. I have a plaque on mine but I off set it. I will take a pic later. I also have a gurt big nudge bar so the centre really didn't suit mine! I like the number plate mounted directly to the bumper, mine is on tabs but that restricts airflow I think?

Not the old chugga-boom, but the Subaru Forester - the fresh air flow was down on...well, airflow...and hadn't changed the filter for three years. Eight screws later lead to this...

And then found this

Old & new...

Full blast fresh air resumed
Just a pollen filter. The one on my saab was manky and saturated so I took it out and never replaced it. Less chance of it getting clogged up with water and seizing the blower motor again

Ah, but Subaru's designs are so good they can't get clogged up with water or seize the motor. Subaru Foresters are very good...

I did have brand new Saab 9-5 Aero Hot Estate in 2001, all 250bhp of crazy front wheel drive. At the time the fastest estate car on planet earth, now superseded by the Audi RS4's. Although very dated by today's standards, these old 9-5 Aero Hot Estates are tremendous cars. I loved its sheer capacity for long distance driving, touring holidays et al. In my mind I still hold the World Land Speed Record for West Berkshire to Monaco via Bordeaux, hitting 148mph on some of the Autoroutes...anti-Frog Rozzer detection system radar'ed to max' :) Sadly, we can't travel at such lightspeeds these days :(

Everything in the 9-5 was built with ergonomics in mind...the seats are still some of the very best ever made and they had a "Nighttime..." mode dashboard button where all the dash lights were turned off except for the dimmed speedometer. It was as if one was piloting a jet fighter. Cool...very cool cars

eta: to this day, the 9-5 Aero is the only car to get me two speeding tickets within 8mins, both over 95mph [!] The first by the Welsh Plod heading East over the Severn Bridge, the second @ 7mins Xsecs by the old Avon & Somerset Constabulary heading East on the M4. The miserably cocky anti-English Welsh Plod threw the book at me  :( The A&SC gave me a right ticking off over the phone, proceeding to teach me about excess exhaust pollution, danger to other road users, excessive car wear & tear at high speed...a day's speed awareness course and a £120 fine. In hindsight the A&SC were very civilised and quite courteous.

And the Saab? Yep, cool cars...

It's a GM era Saab 93 Sportwagon I've got. Literally the best 250 quid I've ever spent. That cars never broken down, never let me down, and that was with me doing a 50 mile commute every day for my last job. I'd bought it (and couldn't believe the price) to do me while I was rebuilding a lot of the landy but I'd never get rid of it now

Today I drove it......

discovered front brakes not as good as I wanted as rear lockup on cornering breaking is fun:p

now a few weeks recovery before I feel the masochistic urge to have another trip ('86 2.5d TUL,FFW)

Rich.
How long a rest did I have after the 400 mile trip in December 2019..... 18 months

This has just arrived, perfect timing for a rainy weekend. Having had the atb in the rear axle for nearly 4 years now, I think it's time to upgrade the front! Fantastic bits of kit, acts like a full locker with the right amount of left foot braking and good throttle control on the real rough stuff, bloody brilliant! Looking forward to the gains with both in! Highly recommended! :)

Picked up a new door for the 110 got a dent but for £90 very happy! Coming together... slowly.
