What have you done on your 90/110/130 today?

Started to remove the bolts so that I can replace the rusty bumper. Not a good start. The first bolt sheared off inside the front of the chassis leg... will have a cup of tea and contemplate the other three...

Probably best to remove the frustration and cut them off to begin with

Probably right. I don’t know where my grinder is so I might have to borrow one off a mate. To be honest, I haven’t seen it since I moved so I’m hoping Mrs K hasn’t “rehoused” it...

The rest of the bolts are looking like they might go the same way so i canned the bumper change in favour of finally installing my LED bulbs in the dash. As with most things Landy, it didn’t quite go as planned either... none of the lights were working in the dash, which I traced to a dodgy dash light switch to the right of the lower dash. They work for now but I’ll need to order a new switch. And only two of the bulbs were working so there’s another issue somewhere... but it’s a start. I’ll have to think about how to tackle the bumper bolts too.

Using a jigsaw is easier. As it gets into the jacking point

Gave the old girl a thorough once over before the drive back trow, Annecy to West Berks - all 1,103kms

Also to report, the leather RX8 seats are/were incredibly comfortable on the way out. Zero discomfort, no tired arse/legs/back. Can really recommend to others looking for a now thoroughly road tested seating type + when booting it up the mountain passes they give excellent sideways grippage without lack of comfort.

Removed Front Door Cards - Fitted new Lock barrels.
Fitted New Barrel to Safari Door
Cut off the rusted retaining nuts where the mud flap brackets used to be, punched out the Rivnuts and fitted new ones.
Removed Rear ladder, started derusting the crossmember- got too hot so stopped and drank beer instead.

Replaced the speedo sensor.
Doesn't work at all now!
Will probably be putting the old one back tomorrow.

I cleaned it, changed the battery and checked it over for the MOT on Tuesday. Most of it still works but I have a feeling the bulkhead may just let her down

Not the old chugga-boom, but the Subaru Forester - the fresh air flow was down on...well, airflow...and hadn't changed the filter for three years. Eight screws later lead to this...

Full blast fresh air resumed

Moved the motor 10foot so could get into the shed.
Now trying to find some stuff but having to climb over landy parts I should repair..
Doors
Transfer boxes
Seat bases.

After cleaning it yesterday I decided to test the lights etc again in case of water ingress. Glad I did, the indicators on the left side decided to stop working. Got it sorted but it took far to long!!

Replaced the clear LED lights on the rear with standard Red and Orange ones - it then had a hissy fit and popped a fuse. New fuse, now all is standard once more. Liberal application of kurust on the door frame bottoms - then Gin happened.

Took the kids up a little green lane. Discovered the windscreen washer didn’t work. Back home, discovered +ve lead to washer pump had broken off at the spade connector. Looks like it had been that way a while. Fixed lead with some re-crimping & needle nosed pliers. Thinking about buying some heat shrink to put on over the whole shebang, because it doesn’t seem very protected.

I got a fresh MOT on it today
