L322 2005 TD6 352k

Strong vibration felt through the steering wheel and accelerator pedal. Kicks in around 85kmh when feathering the accelerator, worst at 90kmh. Vibration/shudder disappears at 100kmh plus.

Tacho needle moves slightly in time with vibration.

Harder acceleration prevents the shudder.

The control arms and sway bar links are bad and will be replaced next week.

Is this to do with the suspension parts, or is it, CV joints, injectors or torque convertor?

Thanks in advance for any pointers.

Sort the suspension parts out first if that does not cure it start looking else where, but you may well find it cures it.
Hello and welcome by the way:)

Welcome to the forum. As Brian says, start with the suspension first. Could be a likely culprit. Unbalanced wheels maybe. Easy to get them checked

The td6 is prone to injector wiring loom fail ,and the one or more injectors don't fire ,causing engine shudder ,harder to tell at speed ,you might notice a slight dip in power ;)..

Thank you, would the tacho needle also move in unison with the vibrations in this case?

Look for any play in the uj joints, you will need to jack up one side so the wheels are off the ground then give the props a good twist back and forth looking for play and listening for clunks

In some cases the break in the loom occurs under load or off load might be fine till it warms up,,,But it could just be a lost wheel weight .But if the engines tack is fluctuation ,unless the vibration is Sevier enough to shake the needle ,id be checking the loom ,Do you feel a dip in engine power:eek:...

Thank you, exactly what should I be looking for with the joints?

could be related to current issues. I’d check your prop shaft UJs myself

There's no noticible loss in power. Just the strong vibration, very similar to when my transmission went bad on my Subaru. Except when I increase the power on the RR the vibration goes away.

Thank you I'll have a check OTE="brianp38dse, post: 5153985, member: 112774"]Look for any play in the uj joints, you will need to jack up one side so the wheels are off the ground then give the props a good twist back and forth looking for play and listening for clunks[/QUOTE]

Sometimes it’s hard to notice anything with the weight the vehicle. Get a pry bar in there and see for any noticeable play. Took me a while to track down mine as it seemed solid when I’d get underneath and check.
