Hi.
I have a 2015 110 that has had a noise in the drive train. It went into a local Land Rover 'specialist' who diagnosed it as a worn 5th gear syncro gear. I wasn't convinced, but went along with it. It was in for 3 weeks before Christmas and nothing was done. I got it back on with a story about covid difficulties. It went in again in April for nearly three weeks where the gears were replaced plus a new clutch and other bits and bobs. I eventually got it back with a £1500 bill. But on my first drive, the original noise is still there and the clutch feels completely different to before with a really low biting point. The guy was supposed to take it for a day last Friday but never showed. This is a legitimate business, but I'm not happy. So, do I take it to Land Rover for an assessment? Has anyone used their legal part of insurance to help? I'm miffed, but just want it sorted.
 
Ring them up & ask where they were Friday. If they have problems collecting it why not deliver it to them.
Explain the problem still has not been sorted & you need help again.
(As for the low clutch bite it’s not been bled correctly)
 
Polite because you need to give them a chance, but firm. Set a deadline and keep to it. Get everything in writing, this will support any claim you make, but it also shows you must be taken seriously. Your best solution is that they sort it, the other options are much harder. Have they done the work they charger for (even if it didn't fix the fault)?
 
@DMB24 , as per the guys above - go back and talk through with the garagiste. Post this, put in writing what is expected to be completed and timeframe...take pen and paper with you if necessary. Avoid legals at all costs and use this only as a last resort...it's always best to close issues amicably.

The problem with most garages is that they don't know where their next meal's coming from and so overbook customer works to keep garage busy and when something gets delayed it cocks up previously agreed timings...add to this a member of staff not turning up and the schedule's stuffed.
