So I got into the D2 game a little while ago and bought another to play with it has a 2" lift and remapped etc and it has been driving fine, in fact is great! Until....
today the D2 started to shudder when revearsing and it didn't sound too clever or feel too clever.
On the way home it didn't like a junction on a steep hill and would stall in 1st when trying to pull away so coasted down the hill backwards and then drove the longer but flatter route home which it done without skipping a beat.
the revearse shudder also happened yesterday then stopped for a bit but obviously now is back.

When parked up my first thought was Diff issues etc so got underneath and not sure what to make if it all ( I have taken clear photos below)
So at the back of the bell housing I have oil dripping which is amber in colour and is dripping off the bolt heads as zoomed in photo shows not entirely sure but may be a leak from the engine dripping down from back of rocker cover as that is wet there when checking but dosent look like it could be bad enough to cause the amount down there.. but I may be wrong... but at least I know it has oil in!
Following the prop back to the middle of the truck I find the transfer box and that is leaking as well by the looks of things again oil dripping off bolt heads...

The rear diff is fine and all is dry from the middle backwards.
Im not a techy guy nor a mechanic but can do things as im practical and not totally useless and have friends in the know as well that can help if needed.
Any info on what the issue/issues are and a guestimate of how far the wallet will have to open if I can't do it and a garage is required would be much appreciated
Cheers for any help in advance
If it helps its a 2001 D2 GS

Only time I experienced shudder/judder through transmission was when my UJ's were going.
That was a manual 110 +2", on the short prop. Probably due to having the lift and increasing the angle on the prop.
I put the new springs on but ran on the old 200k mile UJ's, which I assume just gave up as a result.
I guess if you check the UJ's and feel they are ok then I'd be checking or changing the ATF in the box.
By dropping the oil you will get a good idea of the state of the box (colour etc) and will get an indication of whether there was enough oil in there.
