Disco 2 No headlights but mainbeam and sides

On my 2004 td5 I have lost dipped headlamps but working sidelights and main beam and flash. With the ignition on a lights switched on there is no power at either of the fuses under the steering column .

studying the schematic I see in the engine fuses box , fuseable link 10 feeds the stalk for the headlamps which is also not blown but there is voltage there. Can anyone tell me what colour wire am I looking for that feeds the stalk and what pin on the plug please by the stalk ?

cheers Andy I've found I got power to the switch on the multiplug and out when switched on but the fuses on the fusebox under the column has no power . Found the same colour wire as the out from the switch on the rear of the board, there is no continuity there . I'm guessing there is only wire which is blue with a red trace to the rear of the board ?

No problem, I'm not to hot on electrics but it does sound like there's a break on that wire somewhere if there's power in & out of the switch. Can you run a bypass just to confirm ?

I could feed the back of the board end of plug with the power probe .

If all the fuses are OK then IMO the fusebox is FUBAR which is not uncommon but even if i'm wrong it must be ruled out before chasing wiring issues

I would run an external wire from header C0041 pin 2 to pin 4 on header C0584, as long as that's the blue wire with a red trace, (high beam comes out on the blue with white trace).

but there is no continuity from the multiplug from the stalk ( blue with red trace ) to a plug to the rear of the fuseboard with the plug not plugged in ruling out the fuseboard surley ?

Sorry, i might have missed this info, if it's so you have the answer, improvise a bypass wire on that circuit from fusebx to the stalk then to make sure thats the issue

Il give a go with a power probe first , is there any connection plugs between the stalk and the fuseboard do you know ?

The loom looks a right pain to get at at the rear of the dash cavity !

I'm sorry I don't but if anyone does it'll be SF. Your right about the wiring being a bit tight to work with.
