2.25 3 brg

Thanks what does the 3 brg stand for ?, gonna look out for a decent one of these.
Dont suppose anyone has or knows where there is one for sale ?

I can well understand wanting to put back an engine of original spec but I think it would make more sense to source a 5 bearing engine if possible. A 1970 engine is probably 7:1 compression ratio, 8:1 would be betterer.

Just want somthing that will sit straight on chassis without having to move engine mounts ect, dont understand all this ratio stuff engines an engine to me as long as it goes and stops. without breaking down :D

the 3mb and 5mb are the same engine as far as mounting into the chassis are concerned. the only differences are internal. so in terms of your rebuild it will not matter which one you use so I would be choosing based on condition and availability.

Unless you buy from someone you know and trust, theres a good chance any 2nd hand engine you buy is going to be worn out and need work.
As for enginemounts, diesel/petrol right up to and including 200tdi will fit.
